Assistant Professor of Economics (Two Positions) / Fall 2025

George Mason University, Korea (Mason Korea) invites applications for two full-time, non-tenure track Assistant Professor positions in Economics, beginning Fall 2025 (August).

Positions Available:

  • Macroeconomics: One position with a specialization in macroeconomics.
  • General Economics: One position open to any field of specialization within economics.

Qualifications:

  • PhD in Economics (advanced ABD candidates will be considered).
  • Demonstrated experience teaching economics, preferably at the undergraduate level.
  • Experience and enthusiasm for teaching a diverse international student population.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience as primary instructors for undergraduate courses, particularly in microeconomic theory, macroeconomics, financial economics, or international economics.

About the Position

This is a full-time, non-tenure track position. The compensation package is competitive, and all international hires include support for relocation expenses (airfare and shipping allowance), furnished housing, annual leave travel allowance, dependent educational expenses, and health insurance in Korea’s excellent health care system. Adjunct Instructor/Assistant Professor, Spanish (Latin America)

George Mason University Korea is seeking an enthusiastic and energetic individual for a part-time position in Spanish Language Instruction for the Spring 2025 semester, beginning mid-February 2025. 

Responsibilities 

We are looking for a dynamic, innovative individual to teach Elementary Spanish II (SPAN 102). This is a one-semester Adjunct Faculty position.  

The Spring 2025 course schedule is fixed and noted below.  

Monday/Wednesday 18:30-19:45

This is a part-time, non-tenure track position. Required Qualifications 

  • Completion of a Master’s degree in Spanish or a related field by December 2024.

  • Ability to use campus technology tools used to teach in multiple modalities (Canvas, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Office, Zoom, etc.) and willingness to adapt to new technologies that might be adopted by the campus in the future.

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Completion of a PhD in Spanish or related field by December 2024.
  • Experience teaching diverse students and working effectively in diverse teams.
  • International teaching experience.

Adjunct Faculty, LLM Program (Constitutional Law)

The Antonin Scalia Law School of George Mason University invites interested applicants to join the faculty as part-time Adjunct Faculty Members. Adjunct faculty members are needed to teach either required or elective course(s) in its LLM and JM degree programs. About the Position:

Classes are offered semester on Mason Korea Campus during daytime and evening hours and remotely (synchronous and asynchronous formats). Applicants who are accepted to teach in remote programs will begin work upon hiring to construct the course, meet with our student and academic staff, and familiarize themselves with the technology used for these courses.

Expertise in the following courses may be needed:

  • Constitutional Law
     

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and teach assigned courses at assigned class meetings, based on course catalog description and approved course outline;
  • Preparation of course syllabus;
  • Prepare and objectively grade class assignments, participation, and exams within a timely manner, in accordance with law school policies;
  • Maintain accurate, transparent student records;
  • Assist and foster student success through the maintenance of regularly scheduled office hours and timely responses to e-mail inquiries;
  • Adhere to all administrative University policies;
  • Maintain appropriate professional development to stay current within assigned courses;
  • Maintain appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics; and
  • Other duties as assigned by contract and/or by the law school Dean or his designee including assessing course(s) taught for continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications:

  • JD or foreign equivalent; and
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with international students/international law;
  • Passed a bar exam in the past 5 years;
  • A dedication to helping students succeed both in academics and in their career;
  • Experience working with foreign language populations; and
  • Willingness to participate in department activities such as faculty meetings.
