Senior Coordinator or Assistant Manager, Career Development Center
George Mason University Korea’s Career Development Center (CDC) is seeking a proactive and student-focused professional to join as a Senior Coordinator or Assistant Manager (Full-time, 40 hours/week). As part of a dynamic and student-centered team, this role supports early-year and international students through personalized advising, internship coordination, and employer engagement—empowering students to grow with confidence and cross-cultural awareness.
The position will play a vital role in supporting the career development of 1st–2nd year students and international students by providing early-stage advising and customized programming. The role also leads the coordination of internships (credit and non-credit), manages career events, supervises student career engagement groups, and supports employer and alumni engagement.
The pay scale of the Senior Coordinator position is from 46,000,000 KRW to 51,000,000 KRW per year based on previous working experiences. The pay scale of the Assistant Manager is from 51,000,000 KRW to 58,000,000 KRW per year based on previous working experiences. The office expects the position to start at the beginning of June.
Key Responsibilities:
1- Career Advising & Early-Year Program Support
- Advise 1st–2nd year students through one-on-one and group sessions
- Plan and implement early-career development programs and workshops
- Help students explore career interests, build skills, and transition from school to career
2- International Student Advising
- Provide advising and support that reflects the unique backgrounds and needs of international students
- Offer guidance on job search strategies and employment-related visa processes
- Design programs reflecting the language and cultural needs of international students
3. Internship Management
- Manage all internship processes, both credit and non-credit
- Coordinate with companies, faculty, and departments
- Conduct orientation and closing sessions for internship participants
- Monitor student progress and provide ongoing support
4. Employer Relations & Partnership Support
- Assist the Director in employer engagement and act as a liaison for employer and alumni visitors
- Represent the CDC in employer and alumni meetings as needed

5. Event Planning & Coordination
- Develop and maintain the CDC’s career event calendar
- Serve as liaison for external guests and supervise event logistics

6. Student Career Engagement (Group Management)
- Supervise CDC-affiliated student groups
- Co-plan programs that encourage career readiness and participation
- Align group initiatives with the CDC’s mission
7. Program Evaluation & Satisfaction Surveys
- Design and distribute post-event and semester-end surveys
- Analyze results to generate reports and insights
- Recommend improvements based on survey findings
8. University Support
- Participate and contribute to broader University Life and/or university side programs, events and initiatives as assigned by the administration or the supervisor.

Qualifications (applicable to the Senior Coordinator level):
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Minimum 3+ years of progressive experience in career advising, student coaching, or external relations in higher education, or in the field of human resource development or at a career consulting organization.
- Proficiency (oral and written) in both Korean and English, with the ability to communicate professionally and effectively in both languages.
- Demonstrates an educator’s mindset with a strong sense of student development.
- Brings positive energy and genuine interest in helping students grow and succeed.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities independently and collaboratively.
Qualifications (applicable to the Assistant Manager Level):
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Minimum 5+ years of progressive experience in career advising, student coaching, external relations in higher education or in the field of human resource development or at a career consulting organization
- At least 1 year of supervisory experience, including oversight of staff, interns, or student teams.
- Proven ability to design and lead programs that support student career readiness and development.
- Strong communication skills in both Korean and English (oral and written), with the ability to engage professionally with students, employers, and university stakeholders.
- Demonstrates a student-centered mindset with a good understanding of career development principles
- Brings a collaborative spirit, positive energy, and initiative to lead projects and mentor junior staff or student leaders.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.

Coordinator, Career Development Center

The Coordinator will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive administrative, operational, and promotional support to the CDC. The role includes coordinating logistics for career events, managing the on-campus work-study program, supporting PR and marketing efforts, and handling internship-related communication and documentation. The Coordinator also plays a key role in maintaining resources, records, and systems essential for smooth center operations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Event Support
- Coordinate logistics and operational needs for all CDC events (e.g., workshops, employer visits, student engagement sessions).

Senior Mental Health Specialist
The Well-Being Center at George Mason University Korea provides mental health counseling sessions, disability support, student care, and student conduct. These services promote students’ personal development and psychological well-being, including individual and group counseling, outreach programming, training, consultation, crisis intervention, and assessment. The Senior Mental Health Specialist offers individual and group counseling sessions to promote well-being and develop coping skills for George Mason University Korea students. The Senior Mental Health Specialist follows standard protocols for psychological counseling and adheres to ethical principles in accordance with laws and regulations pertaining to behavioral health care in South Korea and Virginia, US.
The Senior Mental Health Specialist works as a member of the Office of University Life and reports directly to the Manager of the Well-Being Center. The pay scale of the Senior Coordinator position is from 47,000,000 KRW to 52,000,000 KRW per year based on previous working experiences.
COUNSELING
- Provide mental health services, including individual and group counseling and mental health assessments, to support students’ academic success and retention.
- Provide individual and/or group therapy sessions to address a variety of mental health concerns, such as anxiety, depression, stress, and relationship issues.
- Help students identify and address mental health issues, develop coping mechanisms, and achieve their goals.
- Provide referrals to other mental health professionals or support services as needed.
- Connect students with community resources and support groups.
- Respond to and manage crisis situations, providing immediate support and ensuring the safety of students.
ASSESSMENT
- Conduct mental health assessments to understand student needs and develop appropriate counseling/therapy plans.
- Conduct psychological assessments for learning disabilities and other conditions to support documentation for disability accommodations.
- Assist in diagnosing mental health conditions.
ADMINISTRATIVE
- Maintain accurate and confidential records and adhere to ethical professional guidelines.
- Compile annual reports of services and outcomes by collecting and analyzing data to evaluate counseling services’ effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
- Participate in appropriate campus committees and coordinate with other committees and groups as needed.
- Assists with university life activities and events and other university-wide signature events.
EDUCATION AND ADVOCACY
- Serve as a resource to faculty, staff, and students on mental health and well-being issues that may influence student behavior, including but not limited to motivation, learning process issues, serious mental illness, suicide, violence, stalking, and threats towards others, anger management, conflict resolution, and social/communication skills.
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and other student services offices to address mental health concerns and promote a supportive campus environment.
- Advocate for students to ensure they receive the support and resources they need.
- Plan and deliver workshops, presentations, and other educational programs to promote mental health awareness and well-being.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to conduct mental health counseling sessions and training presentations and communicate effectively both orally and in writing in Korean and English.
- Master’s degree in psychology or counseling.
- Documented experience conducting psychological testing for learning disabilities and writing official documentation for accommodations.
- Licensed or eligible for licensure as a psychologist in South Korea.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working in U.S. higher education systems or mental health facilities.
- Knowledge of U.S. disability accommodation standards (e.g., ADA, Section 504).
- Training in crisis intervention.

George Mason University Korea’s University Life (UL) is seeking an Operations Coordinator who possess a blend of administrative, organizational, interpersonal, and university-specific skills.

SUMMARY
Under the general supervision of the Director of University Life (UL), the Operations Coordinator for University Life supports the various functions and operations of the University Life team.
Key Responsibilities:
ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT FOR UNIVERSITY LIFE
- Coordinate, manage, and support supervisors’ calendar, meetings, visitors, and business expenses.
- Under the guidance of the Manager of the Well-Being Center, collect and distribute scholarship applications to appropriate offices for review and selection of recipients.
- Collaborate with the Finance Office to manage and organize scholarship data effectively.
- Collect thank-you letters from scholarship recipients to acknowledge donor contributions.
- Serve as a point of contact on the 1000won breakfast initiative works with IGC to promote the initiative, submits monthly payment through Oracle, and prepare and collect documents to be submitted to IGC and/or relevant requestors.
- Collect student intake information for Patriot Pantry and Student CARE inquiries.
- Support the student housing process by answering inquiries from students and parents and reviewing application materials.
- Prepare department annual budget request documents in conjunction with the leaders of the University Life team.
- Monitor and review monthly budget spending.
- Reconcile two purchasing cards associated with University Life.
- Serve as a central point of contact for external partners and direct to appropriate UL staff.
- Support the UL team with logistical responsibilities of reserving IGC event spaces for university-wide activities.
- Manage the UL generic email account: check the inbox, renew the password, and forward announcements/notices for students from IGC and other miscellaneous organizations.
- Monitor the university Google events calendar and ensure all UL events are posted and shared through the calendar.

- Manage UL swags and inventory.

Senior Accountant (Sr. Fiscal Coordinator) – Maternity Leave
The Senior Accountant (Sr. Fiscal Coordinator) will play an integral role in the day-to-day operations of the Office of Finance and Planning. This position is primarily responsible for supporting accounting and finance functions such as journal entries, bank reconciliations, employee reimbursements, and financial reporting and analysis. The role works closely with the Executive Director and collaborates with the Student Account Coordinator to ensure seamless financial administration across departments.

Functions and Responsibilities
Specific functions and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Recording the account payable transactions based on group accounting policies
- Handle Procurement functions
- Manage the full-cycle fixed asset accounting
- Prepare VAT reporting with reconciliation of monthly transactions
